One of those days that reminded me why I love karting so much. It was a mix of triumph, challenge, and pure fun.
The day started with qualifying at Cambuslang, where I came second to Sam. He was fast—really fast—but I knew I had what it would take to push in the race. The main event itself wasn’t dramatic, but that’s not to say it was easy. Maintaining my focus and keeping my concentration razor-sharp was a real test of my mental endurance. Every lap demanded all of my brainpower to stay consistent and in control. By the end, it paid off—I crossed the line in first place!
Afterward, I headed over to meet with my racing team at Larkhall, Thistle and Rose Racing. It’s always inspiring to spend time with the team, exchanging tips, soaking up the camaraderie, and sharing our collective passion for motorsport.
Later in the day at Larkhall, I stayed to watch some of my friends racing their own karts. It’s always a thrill to cheer them on and see their skills in action. As the day started to turn into night, I decided to head back out onto the track myself. Racing at night brings its own unique challenges—the changing light, the cooler air, and the way the track feels under your tyres.
On my first session back out at Larkhall, I got a bit unlucky with a dud kart. It happens—sometimes, the kart just doesn’t have what you need to be competitive. But in my second session, I got a much better kart, one with great rear-end grip. That made all the difference. With more stability, I could push harder through the corners and hit faster lap times. It was such a rewarding feeling to feel the kart working with me instead of against me.
Overall, today was one of those days where every moment felt like a small step forward, whether it was a race win, learning to manage focus under pressure, or simply enjoying the thrill of night racing. It’s days like these that fuel my passion for karting and keep me excited for what’s next.
Bring on the next race!
